Every 6 years the Church of England requires a complete renewal of church Electoral Rolls – 2019 is that year!
The Electoral Roll is the basic list in every parish of all those entitled to vote on elections within the Church of England and it’s really important and valuable to us to have all those who consider themselves part of our village churches to sign up. So please if you are able, do sign up, it doesn’t cost anything – to you or us – and will add a really important element of understanding of our parish life.
Who can be on the electoral roll?
To be on the electoral roll a person needs to have been baptised, be at least 16 years old and either:
• Living in the parish and a member of the Church of England or a Church in communion with the Church of England
• Not resident in the parish but is a member of the Church of England (or a Church with which the Church of England is in communion) and has regularly attended worship in the parish during the six months prior to enrolment
• A member in good standing of a Church which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and they are prepared to declare themselves a member of the Church of England, having regularly attended worship during the six months prior to enrolment If you receive a copy of Grapevine, you will automatically receive a copy of a form with your February edition. Additional forms can be collected from the back of church, from the download below or by contacting us.
As part of the process we are collecting postal and email addresses to allow us to communicate in a more modern way, and saving money. This is covered by our privacy notice and is mentioned on the form.
